[24.09.2010] MTV sprach mit James McAvoy über seine Interpretation der Rolle von Professor Charles Xavier in "X-Men: First Class"...
[...] "I'm basically going to try and bury Patrick's performance," McAvoy laughed when speaking with MTV News about the project. But there's some seriousness to his words as well, as McAvoy explained that he hopes to put his own stamp on Xavier - until he reverts the character back to Stewart's version, that is.
"I think the fun about these films, when you go back and you either reboot or do a prequel, is you get to see how people became who they are," he explained. "That means that you have to do them differently and by the end of the movie you have to do them the same way. The interesting journey is what happens to them, what changes them, what makes them evolve - not just mutate, but emotionally and psychologically evolve."
"I would suggest by the end of the movie and the start of the next movie, it'll be more like what Patrick does," he added. "Or maybe not. Maybe it will still be in a period of flux, if there is a new movie." [...]

[22.09.2010] Wie CBM meldet, wird der spanische Schauspieler Alex González in "X-Men: First Class" die Rolle des Janos Quested aka Riptide spielen...

[09.09.2010] Bei INF Daily gibt es Bilder von den Dreharbeiten zu "X-Men Origins: First Class": January Jones als Emma Frost !!!

[21.08.2010] Harry von AICN sprach mit dem Produzenten Bryan Singer über "X-Men Origins: First Class"...
[...] he's been working on X-MEN: FIRST CLASS for over a year now and with the looming August 31st, filming date approaching - he wanted to clarify some of what it is they're doing.
First off - the film takes place in the 1960's. John F Kennedy is the President of the United States. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X are on TV doing marches. There is a spirit of a hopeful future that was prevalent in that time. We will see how Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr met - and how they dreamt of a future with Mutant & Human kind. They're going to be in their late twenties. Xavier - as played by James McAvoy will not be in his wheelchair to begin the film - but we will see how he wound up in a wheelchair. I asked if McAvoy would have a nice shiny chrome dome - and folks. We're going to see Professor X when he still had hair. We'll see McAvoy and Fassbender's Magneto formulate what it is they are attempting by creating the X-MEN.
Now Bryan wanted us to know this is not the conventional FIRST CLASS comic - but rather a new beginning for X-MEN. Set in the 60s - Vaughn is technologically inspired by JAMES BOND's tech of the time. The costumes will be far more comic bookish than we've seen before - and while Scott and Jean aren't here - Cyclops' brother Alex Summers aka Havoc will be, as played by Lucas Till.
With January Jones and Kevin Bacon playing Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw - we will be getting the HELLFIRE CLUB. I commented that the HELLFIRE CLUB has always felt like something that it would be wrong to modernize, as it felt as though it were something specific to the swinging Hefner era of the 60s... and Bryan said that's exactly why they're making use of the HELLFIRE CLUB... the dress and the costumes associated with that glorious period of the X-MEN... belong in the 60s. I asked if Kevin Bacon would be sporting that little ponytail with the ribbon - Bryan laughed and said, "We'll see".
In regards to the cast, Bryan was especially excited to land Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast. Nicholas was set for FURY ROAD, but their start date shifted which opened up his availability for FIRST CLASS. Also - Rose Byrne is playing Moira MacTaggert, I liked her in KNOWING. And I think she's fairly perfect for Moira. The cast list over on IMDB is correct (with the exception of the Rosamund Pike rumor).
Looks like filming will begin with Xavier at Oxford University in the 60s. And Bryan is excited that the film is going to have a much more international feel than the prior X-MEN movies. They'll be shooting in England & the United States - and they'll be representing other locales around the globe as well, but would only tell me that Russia (aka The Soviet Union... CCCP) will be amongst them. He doesn't want to show all the cards just yet. But the International flavor will give the film a more James Bond vibe... [...]

[21.08.2010] Vulture meldet...
Insiders tell Vulture that it's come down to two directors vying to call the shots on Fox's sequel to Wolverine: Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade, and Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler's Wife). Both men have been approved by the studio's brass, and though Jackman will ultimately be the one to make the call after meeting with each next week, a well-placed source inside the production insists, "It's going to be Slade."
As for the plot, McQuarrie's last draft from January has us rejoining Logan in Japan, where we left him at the end of the first Origins movie. There, he begins a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. This being Hugh Jackman, of course, he doesn't take no for an answer. And, this being Japan, that doesn't go over so well. Soon enough, Logan must do battle with her furious father and samurai-sword-wielding brothers. Wolverine claws versus samurai swords? Truly, a geeky Sophie's Choice.

[19.08.2010] Variety meldet...
January Jones has inked a pact to play Emma Frost in 20th Century Fox's "X-Men Origins: First Class."
Widespread Internet reports contended that Alice Eve was set to play Emma Frost, although no deal was in place.
"Mad Men" star Jones was among several hires that completes the casting of "First Class," which Matthew Vaughn is directing. "First Class" toplines Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as young men discovering their powers for the first time, and before taking the names Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier, respectively.
New arrivals in addition to Jones include Jason Flemyng ("Kick-Ass"), who will play Azazel, the father of Nightcrawler, Bill Milner ("Son of Rambow"), who will play Magneto as a young boy, and Morgan Lily ("2012"), who will play a young Raven. Zoe Kravitz will play Angel Salvadore. [...]

[17.08.2010] Deadline meldet...
Add Oliver Platt to the cast of X-Men: First Class, the Matthew Vaughn-directed spinoff that 20th Century Fox puts into production next month in London. I'm told that Platt will play a role called The Man in Black, who is not a mutant. [...]

[16.08.2010] CS! meldet...
BFI's Movie-Con III is in full effect in London right now and ComingSoon.net's man abroad Ben Mortimer has learned that actor Jason Flemyng, last seen playing Calibos in Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans and in a small role in Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, will be reteaming with Vaughn for a role in X-Men: First Class. That role will be Azazel, who was described as a "teleporter" during Flemyng's presentation for Jonathan English's Ironclad, but who is in fact none other than Nightcrawler's father!
The character first appeared in "Uncanny X-Men" #428 in a storyline called "The Draco" where we finally learned that Kurt Wagner a.k.a Nightcrawler was the son of the lead of an ancient race of mutants, from biblical times no less, who looked like demons and who could teleport by opening portals into other dimensions. In the comics, Azazel had been banished to the "Brimstone dimension" by angels, but left that dimension to father children, one of them being Nightcrawler. It's likely we might just see Azazel in a small role but if he's in the movie, can Nightcrawler be far behind?
Flemyng told the Movie-Con crowd that like Calibos, his character will involve a lot of make-up and that he'll have a tail, which will be added in post-production.

[16.08.2010] THR meldet...
"Damages" star Rose Byrne is in negotiations to join the cast of Fox's "X-Men First Class," being directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Fox is gearing up for a London shoot at the end of this month and zeroing on the last key pieces of its important franchise.
The movie, whose story line remains under wraps, focuses on Marvel's superpowered X-Men team in a younger incarnation than seen in the previous trilogy.
Byrne will play Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and an authority on genetic mutation. She'll be the love interest of James McAvoy, who plays mutant telepath Charles Xavier. [...]

[03.08.2010] CS! meldet...
Director Matthew Vaughn is currently working on X-Men: First Class in London from where he talked with a few outlets about the June 3, 2011 release. He told Hero Complex that they were forced to change the script for the film after seeing Christopher Nolan's Inception.
"I saw 'Inception,' which I loved," Vaughn said. "But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards." He added that the scrapped sequence was a "dream-space combat" that featured a fight involving Charles Xavier and other mutants that was to going to be presented with spinning rooms and other physics-bending imagery.
He also told IGN that he hopes to follow the model of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot for "First Class." fNteru Goodlookingstrippedsingers No Lesson2 Shtml Good Looking Stripped Singers moviefans.de !!!
